Overview

The Payroll Representative will handle the data-entry and processing of bi-weekly payroll for assigned stores, communicate with stores and field management regarding issues and changes, and adhere to set deadlines while upholding accuracy in all processed information.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile bi-weekly payroll for approximately 150 store locations in various states
  • Process payroll based on the current wage and hour laws and regulations
  • Ensure that paychecks are processed on time and are accurate
  • Maintain all payroll files and paperwork, accounting for missed punches, sick pay, vacation, personal, bereavement, holiday compensation, salary increases, bonuses, travel advances, insurance deductions, retirement savings and any other adjustments
  • Interact effectively with store and field personnel on a daily basis
  • Research and respond to questions from the stores and field management
  • Manage wage garnishments including: child support, tax levies and student loans
  • Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur
  • Complete all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates degree preferred; further coursework in accounting or related field a plus
  • 1+ years related payroll experience, preferably experience with large payroll operation (100+ employees); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all current federal and state wage and hour laws
  • Demonstrated mathematical, quantitative and problem solving skills
  • Experience with ADP and ERP payroll systems
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to foster a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging feedback and innovation
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
