Overview

The Recruiter’s role will be to analyze staffing needs and develop/implement cost-effective recruitment strategies. This includes identifying qualified candidates that reflect rue21’s values and meets its job requirements as a result of the interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze staffing needs and develop/implement cost-effective recruitment strategies (which may include posting jobs on career sites, placing print ads, searching the internet, cold-calling and attending career fairs).
  • Identify qualified candidates that reflect rue21’s values and meets its job requirements as a result of the interview process.
  • In-depth knowledge of recruitment processes (strategy of search, candidate sourcing, resume screening, networking & interviewing skills.)
  • Conduct thorough pre-screening to ensure candidates are viable to rue21 standards.
  • Compile lead lists and conduct extensive cold calling.
  • Conduct referencing checking.
  • Keep accurate records of candidate activity.
  • Maintain Open Position Report weekly basis.
  • Coordinates interviews with hiring groups including routing schedules and resumes, making travel arrangements, when necessary, and gathering interview feedback; negotiate employment offers in partnership with senior management and hiring managers.
  • Maintain positive business relationships with Hiring Managers and their teams.
  • Set appropriate strategy for building a pool of candidates.
  • Drives timely hire or no-hire decisions
  • Evaluate, prioritize, plan, delegate, administer and adapt to business needs.
  • Network and support the staffing process by utilizing personal initiatives and corporate training and recruiting programs.
  • Routinely partner with the Director of Talent Acquisition & the Hiring Managers to benchmark process, adjust strategy, set expectations and drive the hire/no hire decision. Responsible for management satisfaction, and timely, quality results.
  • Coach management on behavioral interviewing.
  • Represent the company with honesty, integrity, enthusiasm and knowledge.
  • Provide the highest level of recruiting service through frequent written and/or in-person updates, frequent verbal correspondence and regular reports.
  • Researches, identifies and recruits appropriate candidates for open positions.
  • Act as liaison between recruitment agencies and rue21
  • Post positions/conduct searches for resumes on job search engines.
  • Ensures required paperwork is completed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Three+ years’ experience in retail recruiting experience, preferably in a high volume/fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding candidate assessment skills
  • Prior retail experience preferred
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to foster a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging feedback and innovation
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
