Overview

The intern will assist the Real Estate team with analyzing business opportunities and assist the Lease Audit team with performing lease audits and invoice reconciliations to ensure accurate payment of all real estate occupancy costs dictated by the Company’s leases.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of the company’s ever changing real estate strategy.
  • Assist with the development of proprietary financial analysis spreadsheets which allow the team to determine the financial viability of a project.
  • Perform reviews of markets and centers to determine if they meet the requirements for new stores.
  • Assist with the negotiation and review of all documentation associated with the Real Estate process such as Letters of Intent and Leasing Agreements.
  • Perform Monthly Co-tenancy reviews.
  • Assist in working with other departments within rue21 to ensure all projects are efficiently completed.
  • Assist with proforma analysis, portfolio reporting, and preparation of real estate committee packages for future new stores.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year college or university, seeking a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related Real Estate major
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications; advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt well to change in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
