Overview

As an Inventory Analyst you will be responsible for the amount of inventory in each store, across several categories of product.  You will need to work closely with the Field, Buying and Planning teams to ensure that each store has the correct inventory level to support their sales and merchandising needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze historical data and current store level sales trends to identify risks and opportunities by department, class and style. Develop allocation scales and appropriately adjust allocations to stores
  • Work closely with the Planning and Buying teams.  Recommend receipt flow changes, layer buys for top stores and store transfers, as needed
  • Analyze climate, store type and midweek sales projections and use the findings to take appropriate actions to ensure the optimal inventory level in each store
  • Support the new and remodel/relocation allocation strategy, by ensuring that the required quantities are allocated to each of these locations, as required per the strategy. If the required quantities are unavailable, make sure that all required cross-functional teams are aware and that actions are taken to address the shortfall
  • Resolve any receiving issues by working with the DC and Merchandise Control teams to ensure production goals are achieved
  • Build strong relationships with the Field, Buying and Planning teams, and be an active participant in cross-functional meetings
  • In addition, the most experienced Allocation Analysts may be required to mentor and develop a Merchandise Allocator, teaching them the skills required to be successful as an Allocator and preparing them for promotion to an Allocation Analyst role

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • One+ year experience in Allocation
  • Prior retail experience preferred
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to foster a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging feedback and innovation
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
