    The Marketing Analytics Coordinator will be a part of the Consumer Engagement & Marketing Analytics team at rue21. The team is the principal authority on the rue21 customer, marketing analytics, web analytics, and is charged with championing the voice of our customer and designing innovative, engaging programs for targeted customers. The Consumer Engagement team is integral to the success of rue21 marketing.


    The Marketing Analytics Coordinator will report directly to the Manager, Marketing Analytics, and will contribute to the team by providing supportive data preparation, reporting, insightful analytics, and by assisting with ad-hoc analytics requests. Ad-hoc requests may fall in the realms of digital marketing performance KPI reporting, online and instore attribution of media spend, customer retention/acquisition projects, website optimization, financial model building, customer analytics, statistical analysis, website tagging, or data prep/pull.


    The ideal candidate must be able to quickly respond to requests for information, must have a strong sense of urgency, and must be able to quickly course correct in an environment that changes rapidly. The ideal candidate will show a strong willingness to learn and share knowledge. The ideal candidate will have some combination of experience in data pull/prep, reporting, analytics, and/or html/website tagging/statistical analysis.


    • Create and distribute digital marketing performance reports (daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc.)
    • Create and distribute email reporting (daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc.)
    • Respond to requests from various internal and external stakeholders for performance data
    • Perform other ad hoc analysis and reporting as directed
    • Provide new and innovative analysis, unmet reporting needs, effective revenue-driving strategies, enhancements to the site experience, and all and any other improvements that will increase conversion
    • Perform other ad hoc analysis and reporting as directed
    • Provide and make recommendations for new and innovative solutions for unmet needs
    • Other duties as assigned – the candidate will be cross trained in web analytics, customer analytics, marketing analytics, loyalty, and email and will be expected to contribute to the entire team as needed. The candidate should expect to help with email production from time to time.



    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics; other subjects will be considered but a strong aptitude for analytics must be shown
    • 0-1 years of experience with a strong, hands-on background in marketing, ecommerce, or analysis

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Excel

    • Demonstrated ability to use web analytics and digital marketing tools, particularly Google 360 suite 



    • Experience with analysis and test design in a retail environment
    • Experience in web analytics, marketing analytics, customer analytics and/or html/website tagging
    • Experience coding software such as SQL, R, RStudio, Python; experience working with big data and associated techniques

    Skills and Abilities-Technical

    • Solid mathematics background; must be able to catch own mistakes
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
    • Proficient in HTML

    • Must be highly organized and capable of juggling multiple projects successfully
    • Highly analytical and detail oriented, with a passion for digging into data to identify key trends, results and critical outcomes
    • Strong willingness to learn and share knowledge
    • Strong ability to translate, communicate, and distill statistics and metrics into a digestible, actionable marketing framework
    • Strong initiative – ideal candidate will conceive of research projects/tests and execute based on open business/analysis questions without direct instruction
