  • Overview

    The Executive Assistant will provide administrative support to a Senior Vice President of Marketing of rue21. The Executive Assistant will communicate directly with corporate stakeholders on behalf of the SVP and manage corporate partnerships. He/She will also prepare presentations, create reports for the department, and book travel arrangements as well as complete other special Marketing related projects as assigned. Absolute discretion dealing with confidential and sensitive information will be required.


    • Manage the SVP's schedule for both on and offsite events
    • Support and manage the departmental accounts payable process and reconcile invoices/purchase orders
    • Prepare presentations for meetings using PowerPoint and Keynote
    • Coordinate travel arrangements with detailed itineraries, review incoming mail and email, screen phone calls, respond to routine inquires, and organize and maintain file system
    • Provide scheduling support to Directors
    • Coordinate projects within department and outside parties, set priorities, meet deadlines and follow up on assignments with minimum direction
    • Participate on cross-functional teams as assigned
    • Complete all other duties as assigned


    • Has the desire to progress to a career in marketing / ecommerce. This includes: Creative, PR, Paid Media, Social Media, Events, Category Marketing, Channel Marketing, Partnerships/Sponsorships, Consumer Insights, Ecommerce
    • Minimum one year experience in administrative role supporting C-suite executives required
    • Associate’s Degree preferred
    • Prior retail experience a plus
    • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
    • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
    • Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams
    • Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to foster a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging feedback and innovation
    • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
    • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
