  • Overview

    The Logistics Analyst will conduct data analysis, evaluate performance metrics, make recommendations for process improvements or cost savings, and assist in the oversight of day-to-day carrier relations at rue21’s Distribution Center in Weirton, WV. He/She will coordinate the logistics information and merchandise flow to ensure that critical actions are properly executed. The Logistics Analyst will also be responsible for interfacing with internal customers and providing external customer support as needed. The Logistics Analyst will be responsible for key financial metrics relating to submission of claims, disposition of valued merchandise, analysis of freight expenditure and budget, and assistance with carrier and vendor relations on a daily basis.


    • Analyze financial and operational results and recommend appropriate actions to ensure operational excellence
    • Assist with devising new and creative logistics strategies to ensure cost containment while delivering service requirements
    • Measure distribution goals, track, analyze, and report carrier KPI’s, and review processes regularly
    • Maintain OS&D accountability system to capture and report company loss while improving metrics
    • Advise merchandise and service vendors on daily process including delivery of product and disposition of OS&D goods
    • Identify logistics services, new vendor opportunities, and interdepartmental logistics improvement initiatives; evaluate opportunities and recommend new partnership opportunities
    • Assist with third-party logistics provider negotiations and analytics
    • Coordinate operational relationships with external logistics partner carriers and third party logistics providers
    • Partner with Operations and Fulfillment Management to communicate delivery schedules and assist Management with identifying optimal staffing levels for shifts
    • Completes other tasks and projects as assigned


    • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, or related      field preferred
    • 1+ years in logistics experience or related experience in distribution and/or operations preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to develop, communicate, and execute detailed work plans that      support operational improvement
    • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications required; experience in data gathering; including the ability to translate large amounts of data into actionable insights preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with and influence business partners
    • Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
    • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
