    The Social Media Intern will communicate, accelerate and help define the methods to position our brand through all relevant social media platforms. The Social Media Acquisition Coordinator will assist with the execution of all social media strategies to increase the rue21 social following and build brand awareness while increasing traffic and sales, in stores and online. This role will be responsible for receiving creative and brand assets from counter-parts to implement social strategies. This role will also be responsible for understanding relevant metrics and Key Performance Indicators to determine the effectiveness of Social Campaigns and Platforms.

     

    This is a paid internship (40 hours per week). The duration of the Summer Internship Program is approximately 12 weeks beginning in May 2019.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with the implementation and execution of daily posts across rue21’s social media platforms including product highlights, launches, media and entertainment to connect with consumers
    • Lead Agency discussions on execution and results of various social media campaigns
    • Work with content aggregation tools to maximize social usage and reach for rue21.com and stores
    • Manage Social Listening activities with agency partner to understand opportunities to maximize the social channel
    • Work with Store Operations Team to understand and coordinate the social media needs, strategy and effectiveness for Stores.
    • Work cross functionally with HR to post any corporate and hiring related information
    • Advise on demographic targeted posts for grand openings based on geographic location indicators
    • Implement supplied content to the specific social channels to maximize effectiveness
    • Leverage social influence and outreach from industry bloggers and vloggers by partnering with Brand team to maximize value of these relationships and contribute to the building of new and existing relationships
    • Drive and monitor community engagement
    • Disseminate social learnings, best practices and policies to appropriate individuals in accordance to defined Brand standards
    • Report on all social strategies and key metrics to various internal groups
    • Maintenance of existing Percolate tool and recommendations of other relevant tool sets.
    • Complete all other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
    • Experience maintaining or contributing to a blog a plus
    • Ability to demonstrate creativity and immersion in social media
    • Ability to read and communicate metric trends using various reporting mechanisms
    • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications; Mac proficiency a plus
    • Demonstrate proficiency across social media platforms- Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, tumblr, Snapchat, etc.
    • Prior retail experience at plus
    • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
    • Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams
    • Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work flexible hours based on business demands.
    • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
    • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
