  • Overview

    As the Visual Merchandising Intern, you will support the Visual team with coordinating all stores and special directives as they pertain to visual merchandising and store implementation.

     

    This is a paid internship (40 hours per week). The duration of the Summer Internship Program is approximately 12 weeks beginning in May 2019.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinates and assists in all aspects of the implementation of floor sets and visual changes in simulated store, under the direction of the Visual Merchandising Manager.
    • Organizes, writes, and coordinates the production of monthly floor set directives and bi-weekly mannequin change directives.
    • Communicates weekly visual changes to the field in a timely manner through communications with Operations
    • Coordinates monthly prototype set-ups, presentations, and special memos under the direction of Visual Merchandise Manager.
    • Collaborate regularly with all Departments to identify trends, visual needs, and floor set information.
    • Assists in the development of new approaches to the presentation of props, displays, and merchandising.
    • Works directly with Operations to ensure all updates and additions to the Visual Merchandising Standards Binder are completed in a timely manner.
    • Reviews and assists with floor set direction as it pertains to new stores, remodels, and relocations.
    • Assists in the communications for visual standards for new store openings to insure all current direction and floor set information is provided through the Visual CAD Assistant – New stores/relos/remodels.
    • Maintains all visual set-ups throughout the Support Center complex with the assistance of the Simulated Store Manager.
    • Partners with the Visual Merchandising Manager to mentor, train, and develop the Visual Merchandising Assistants and the Simulated Store Manager

    Qualifications

    • Must be enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in your Junior or Senior year; Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Design, or Business majors strongly preferred
    • Understanding and appreciation for fashion/retail
    • Demonstrated leadership ability, as well as work experience in customer service and/or sales; prior retail experience a plus
    • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
    • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
    • Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams
    • Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to foster a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging feedback and innovation
    • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
    • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
