  • Overview

    The Manger of Merchandise Operations ensures day-to-day efficiency & accuracy of the rue21 purchase order entry and revision (PO Management) process.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage merchandise control team to ensure accurate and timely PO entry and revision
    • Liaison between business customers (merchandising leadership, vendor relations and distribution center) and Merchandise Control team
    • Define and implement policies for PO adjustments (size, color, description, quantities, date extensions, cancellations, etc.)
    • Facilitate all PO-related issue resolution
    • Partner with IT Team to understand backend system processing/updates/timing
    • Explore and define process changes to improve efficiency
    • Obtain consensus with key business partners to implement process changes
    • Lead system testing for Island Pacific (IP) Smart Retail as it relates to PO generation and transmission
    • Develop centralized knowledgebase for all PO related process documentation
    • Responsible for designing process changes to support new system integration
    • Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Proven ability to innovate and implement process change
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or related field
    • 3+ years of relevant work experience, corporate retail background preferred
    • Proven ability to innovate and implement process change
    • Self-motivated with attention to detail, organization and deadlines
    • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
    • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
    • Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
